An all new edition of the ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video is available in the player below. You can subscribe to the Weather Xtreme video on iTunes by clicking here.

HEATING UP: Still looks like the hottest weather so far this year is ahead. We should reach the upper 80s tomorrow, followed by 90 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday. Ridging aloft will keep us mostly sunny on these three days as an extended period of dry weather begins.

FRIDAY AND THE WEEKEND: The 12Z GFS continues to bring a cold front through Alabama Friday night, but with limited moisture and weak dynamics, the model is very dry with only isolated showers, and we will lean in that direction in our forecast. Saturday and Sunday will be cooler, with highs back in the 70s, and the sky should be partly to mostly sunny both days. All in all a very nice weekend.

NEXT WEEK AND BEYOND: The primary core of the stronger winds aloft will stay north of Alabama through all of next week, meaning very warm weather here with little chance of significant rain. And, that type pattern seems to show up through mid-May. Watch the Weather Xtreme video for details.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 30 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. You can even listen here on the blog; look for the player on the top left. We will record this week’s episode tomorrow night.
