Thanks to ABC 33/40 Skywatcher Vic Bell for these images of damage from yesterday’s severe weather in DeKalb County… he writes:
“This storm was less than a mile from the big F3 that went through downtown Geraldine earlier this year. You can see from the radar image by TexasStormChasers how lucky these folks were. I talked with two friends who saw it from their windows. Both described it as being at treetop/rooftop level, not quite on the ground. One of them saw it lifting trees. It later went directly over Ft Payne with the funnel staying high enough there to not cause much damage. A lot of people were very lucky last night.”
