“Would have been nice to get some rain but the day was perfect for a good battle. On Saturday, Civil War Reenactors recreated the Battle of Day’s Gap at Blountsville, Alabama. The original battle took place on May 3rd, 1863 during Streight’s Cavalry Raid into Northern Alabama. Nathan Bedford Forrest chased Streight through Alabama eventually defeating him and capturing most of his raiders.”
