I had to give a training seminar on gravity waves at NWS TLH yesterday, and am here in PAM for the weekend. As large area of storms was 50 miles out in Gulf, I got some nice photographs of the lightning. It looks pink, since it was so far away, and red light gets attenuated the least by the atmosphere/raindrops. I took more pictures later, as the storms arrived, and the lightning is whiter. Most of these are 15 second exposures, so sometimes more than one CW lightning can be seen.
