Anybody remember this one?

“Little darling
It’s been a long, cold, lonely winter
Little darling
It feels like years since it’s been here

Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun, and I say
It’s alright”

What a great song of the day. While temperatures are still well below average values for early March, it is great to see the sun today with temperatures up in the low 50s in most spots this afternoon.

TOMORROW AND THE WEEKEND: We are on target for our expected delightful weekend. While we will be cold tonight, with lows in the upper 20s early tomorrow, look for mid 50s tomorrow, low 60s Saturday, and mid to upper 60s Sunday with a good supply of sunshine each day. It will finally feel like March over the weekend.

NEXT WEEK: A short wave will bring our next chance of rain late Monday night and Tuesday of next week. The GFS continues a weaker trend with that system, meaning little chance of severe weather. Periods of rain and some thunder will be likely, with around 1/2 inch of rain likely. We should note that we actually have a rain deficiency of 2.10″ for 2010, so a little rain is a good thing.

VOODOO COUNTRY: Global models still suggest a negative AO at mid-month with potential for a decent cold snap around here. Details, as you might expect, are very muddy for now. See the Weather Xtreme video for more.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 30 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. You can even listen here on the blog; look for the player on the top left.
