That persistent wide band of rain across Central Alabama has finally started to move along a little better.
At 12:15 p.m., most of the rain had ended along a line from near Livingston to Demopolis, Greensboro, Centreville, Birmingham, Springville and Gadsden northward.
The band of rain is still a good 50-60 miles wide and the southern edge of the rain is now into Clarke County in SW Alabama over to near Montgomery, Lafayette and approaching Opelika.
We know high school football games tonight is a real issue with the rain. I believe it will have ended by kick off time over all but the SE part of the state. Some of the SE locations such as Troy, Dothan, Elba, Andalusia and Geneva may still have a rain threat.
