Scattered showers were developing over NW Alabama early this afternoon and they will grow into thunderstorms. Most of the showers were from about Winston County northward.
Some stronger thunderstorms up in Tennessee were pushing toward the south and southeast.
Look for thunderstorms to increase in both number and strength as the afternoon and evening progresses. Near certain that Severe Thunderstorm Warnings will be needed somewhere along the way.
Temperatures were aiming at the century mark mainly over north Alabama. These official temperatures at 12-noon:
