Wet is the word–very wet in many areas.

Virtually 100%of the state is now getting rain.

Heavy rain extends from parts of Tuscaloosa, Bibb and Chilton County southward through Montgomery into Extreme South Alabama. Lightning is limited mostly to the extreme south.

Showers in East Central Mississippi are getting heavier. These are lined up to eventually move into West Alabama’s Lamar and Pickens County. Heavy showers over NE Mississippi will approach NW Alabama’s Colbert and Franklin County later.

Big strong storms over South Mississippi will threaten SW Alabama later. Thus, Tornado Watch for nine SW Alabama Counties and two in adjacent NW Florida until 10 tonight. A number of South Mississippi counties also in the watch.
