Still a lot of active thunderstorms but overall, a decrease in intensity.
CULLMAN COUNTY
NWS/Huntsville has extended the Flash Flood Warning until 9 pm. The cluster of storms that dumped an estimated 1 to 3 inches of rain over the north part of the county had pushed southward into the south edge of the county. It is pouring along I-65 near Smokerise. Heavy rain will spread into SW Blount County and the north edge of Jefferson.
Meanwhile replacement thunderstorms moving out of east Winston County will be moving eastward into Cullman County.
FURTHER SOUTH
A curved zone of thunderstorms, producing very heavy rain, was located generally along the Demopolis-Greensboro-Centreville-Clanton-Rockford-Montgomery line. ABC 33/40 Skywatcher Justin Gentry, in Jemison, reported that the deluge was coming down at the rate of 5.28 inches an hour earlier. Already 1.05 has been measured.
Moving generally toward the east and southeast. A lot of farms, pastures and lawns got a real drenching from these storms this afternoon.
We may post some more rain amounts later this evening.
