You might wonder just how warm it is? So here are a couple of items that I thought you might find interesting.

Record Temperatures:
The record temperatures for the next few days are generally in the 70s. It would appear that the 9th, 10th, and 11th probably have the greatest likelihood of establishing new records or tying old records. But record forecasting is difficult – just a few more clouds and the temperature won’t travel upward much.
Dec. 8 79 set in 1978
Dec. 9 74 set in 1946 (record older than me)
Dec. 10 73 set in 1972
Dec. 11 76 set in 1931 (record older than JB)
Dec. 12 78 set in 1971

Morning Low on Saturday, Dec. 8:
The morning low as best I can tell at the Birmingham International Airport was 58 degrees which actually equals the average high for December 8th.

Current temperatures:
Current temperatures at noon across Central Alabama were in the lower 70s ranging from 70 to 72 degrees.

Historical Warmth:
I remember a day in December back in 2000 when the high reached 70 and we ended up with an F4 tornado in Tuscaloosa. Fortunately, it does not appear that the current warm spell will result in that kind of catastrophic weather.
