The big thunderstorm that moved down into Jefferson County has weakened considerably and the National Weather Service canceled the Severe Thunderstorm Warning for NE Jefferson County.
It is still producing lots of lightning as it moves slowly SE toward Argo, Trussville and Leeds.
Another storm was forming north of Birmingham in the Fultondale/Gardendale area.
The strongest storms were lined up from the NE corner of Tuscaloosa County and the south tip of Walker County northwestward through Fayette County and South Marion County into Mississippi. Extremely heavy rain has fallen around Hamilton and there was some wind damage earlier north of Jasper. Those storms, too, are moving toward the south and will be moving down around Tuscalosoa County and possibly the western tip of Jefferson County.
