The NWS has canceled the severe thunderstorm warning for Jefferson County…

But storms remain strong in the Greater Birmingham area from Fairfield, Mulga, Adamsville to West Jefferson, extending back into Southeast Walker County.

Moderate rain has overspread much of the rest of the city north of I-20 all the way out to Moody.

To the west, storms have really intensified just north of Tuscaloosa and Northport in Tuscaloosa County. These are moving northeastward toward southeastern Walker County and along the Walker/Jefferson border lands.

Moderate to heavy rain is spreading across Lamar and Fayette Counties toward Marion, Walker and Winston Counties.

Heavy rain in the northwest corner of the state, where flash flood warnings are in effect.

Back in Mississippi…there is a lot of rain. The leading band extends from Columbus to Yazoo City. The back edge has cleared Greenville MS, but more showers were developing in the Memphis area.

Flash flood warnings are posted all along this line.

Could be a long day across Central Alabama.
