A few showers and thunderstorms have blossomed this afternoon across Central Alabama.

One concentration is across Walker and Jefferson Counties…with the main activity near…Carbon Hill…between Cordova and Sipsey…west of Graysville and Adamsville…and south of McCalla…as well as developing cells near the Birmingham Airport and near Gardendale.

John Talbot reports a gusty, heavy rainstorm with 0.72 inches of rain in a short time at Hueytown. he reported two thunderclaps.

Not much lightning showing up yet…but the cells are growing into the 30-35k foot height range and lightning will follow soon.

Other activity is over Chambers, Lee and Macon Counties in East Alabama.

Everything is moving north to northwest.

The activity is increasing in coverage and intensity and a few lucky spots will get some brief rainfall…but watch out for any lightning that develops.
