The main line of thunderstorms has pushed eastward into far East Alabama earl;y on this Tuesdy morning.

At 3:45 am, the line was crossing the Alabama-Georgia border and approaching Rome, Ga. It extended southward across Extreme East Central Alabama (Randolph and Chambers County) and across SE Alabama midway between Montgomery and Troy.

The weather was much calmer over Central and West Central Alabama.

Much of the state has received a soaking rain from this storm system.

A number of counties came under a Severe Thunderstorm or Tornado Warning during the night. There were several reports of property damage but we do not know of widespread major damage.

A Tornado Watch continues for some SE Alabama counties, generally east and SE of Montgomery.

It has been a long sleepless night. Headed for the recliner for about two hours sleep. We will post other updates later this morning including a long list of rain amounts.

This has been the most significant and widespread rain event in parched Alabama in a long, long time.

Good night . . . . .
