FROM SUMTER COUNTY
Cuba…law enforcement reports SNOW of E1.5 INCH at 06:37 AM CST — up to 1.5 inches of snow on grassy surfaces. as much as one inch of slush on secondary bridges. traveling on secondary roads and bridges is becoming difficult. Ground is white in Livingston.

SOUTH ALABAMA
Light snow covers much of South Central and South Alabama at this hour, including the cities of Evergreen, Greenville, Montgomery, Troy and Eufaula. Rain falling at Mobile. Ground white at Greenville and Andalusia, although precip has changed to rain at Andalusia. Chaser James Kincaid streaming from Evergreen showing large flakes and ground beginning to whiten. 34F at Evergreen Airport.

WEST ALABAMA
Radar echoes have increased over Tuscaloosa, Greene, Pickens and Hale Counties. I think we will start seeing some reports of snow reaching the ground in these areas.

CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI SNOW WILL HEAD OUR WAY
Radar echoes are starting to increase again back near and to the west and northwest of Jackson…up toward Rolling Fork and Yazoo City. Snow will eventually work its way across Mississippi and into West Alabama in a few hours.

ACCUMULATIONS
2-4 inches, perhaps as much as 6 inches across South Central Alabama in places like Camden, Greenville, Monroeville, Opp, Luverne, Andalusia. Montgomery could get at least two inches.

In the I-20 corridor, we still will see 1-2 inches of snow today. A dusting to 1 inch is possible for the I-59 corridor northeast of Birmingham.

Roads will become slippery in areas where snow is heavy enough to accumulate to 1 to 2 inches. There is high danger of ice on roads tonight as snow and slush freezes, so keep that in mind as you plan your evening.
