CENTRAL COLORADO HIGH COUNTRY
(Including Leadville, Climax and Mosquito Pass)
Snow showers and thunderstorms increasing tonight. (Yes, thundersnow!) Accumulations 2 to 4 inches with wind gusts to 60 mph. Additional snow of 3 to 5 inches Wednesday along with thunder and lightning at times. Continued very windy. So, the storm total may be 5 to 10 inches. Will never forget sliding off an ice-covered street into a semi-shallow ditch one night in Leadville. Some friendly natives helped push me out.
SALT LAKE CITY
Snow showers along with occasional thunder and lightning starting this afternoon. About one inch accumulating. 2 to 5 additional inches tonight especially on the bench areas immediately east of the Salt lake Valley.
ALTA UTAH
4 to 7 inches of new snow today
8 to 14 inches additional snow tonight
2 to 5 more inches Wednesday
Total 14 to 26 inches through tomorrow. They, too, will have occasional thunder and lightning.
Alta is in the Wasatch Mountains SE of Salt Lake City and famous for great skiing. I believe that Matt Marshall, one of our readers from Layton, Utah (between Ogden and Salt Lake) goes to Alta often.
