History is in the offing this morning as the final Space Shuttle mission is scheduled to lift off from the Kennedy Space Center.
I clearly remember the first mission thirty years and three months ago.
The mission is now in its final planned hold at T minus 9 minutes. It will be there for 41 minutes until approximately 10:14. It scheduled to lift off at 10:23 a.m. CDT. Watch NASA TV here.
The morning forecast from the Spaceflight Meteorology Group, headed by our friend Frank Brody, was not positive, predicting a 70% chance the final Space Shuttle Launch today.
But weather developments this morning have been positive. Here are the current conditions.
Observed weather is now GO for launch.
We will be keeping our fingers crossed that the weather will hold for another hour. Our prayers will be with the crew that the launch will go smoothly.
