UPDATE 6:33: Storm to the west of Philadelphia getting better organized. Would not be surprised to see tornado warning shortly. On a little further south track than the current Lamar County storm.

UPDATE: 6:28 P.M. Storm near radar so can’t see as clearly, but it will bring potentially damaging winds, hail, heavy rain and possibly a tornado to Lamar County, affecting areas from Detroit down to Sulligent, and Vernon in the next 15-25 minutes…

UPDATE: The storm headed toward Lamar County looks weaker. It may be because it is running into more stable air. Or it could be going through an intensity cycle and could re-intensify.

Severe thunderstorm near West Point will move into Lamar County near Vernon or a little north of there about 6:35/6:40.

The NWS Memphis has put a severe thunderstorm warning out in front of it. There still is a tornado warning until 6:30 for part of Lowndes County MS including the Columbus AFB.

The possible tornado/severe storm will pass near Caledonia and then somewhere between Sulligent and Vernon.

IN LAMAR COUNTY: prepare to go into your tornado plan. Leave mobile homes for substantial structures.

THREATS: possible tornado, golf ball sized hail and brief heavy rain.

LOOKING DOWNSTREAM: Storm west of Philadelphia MS could threaten Lamar County or northern Pickens County within the next two hours, so be alert
