Scattered thunderstorms will spread out across a large part of Alabama this afternoon. There are too many to discuss each one individually, but here is a listing of some of the main ones across North and Central Alabama:

* Along the Talladega/Clay County line. There is a cluster of thunderstorms in that area. Most of them are between Ashland and Sylacauga. They seem to be moving more to the west than NW like most of the storms have been moving this afternoon. If they do not weaken, they could produce locally heavy rain in Sylacauga, Sycamore and Childersburg.

* Strong thunderstorms over extreme SE Cleburne County near Heflin and extending down to near Wedowee and Randolph Counties moving slowly NW.

* Moderate to strong storm right in the center of Coosa County in East/Central Alabama near Rockford.

* A group of strong storms over SE Alabama, expecially over Russell and Macon Counties moving NW.

* Some moderate to strong storms near Montgomery extending northward on I-65 to near Prattville.

* Over on the west side of the state, some strong storms over the Tuscaloosa/Northport area extending south to near Moundville.

* Also in West Alabama, a group of strong storms over SW Perry County SW of Marion.

All of those West Alabama storms are also moving slowly NW.

No significant storms in Shelby or Jefferson County at 5:10 p.m.
