No comparison whatsoever between late afternoon today and that of yesterday.
Yesterday at this time we already had real weather problems.
This afternoon the showers and a few thunderstorms are so widely separated that only a small percentage of the state is getting wet. Here is the location of a few of the showers or storms as of 5:40 pm.
….Near Tuscaloosa-Pickens County line east of Gorgo
….NW Talladega County about 15 miles NW of the city of Talladega
….North edge of Perry County and SW Corner of Bibb County
Further away from Central Alabama, a couple of the stronger storms were:
….West Lowndes County
….SW Dekalb County in NE Alabama
A shower was developing north of downtown Birmingham
Still could be a few strong thunderstorms this evening but Thursday and maybe Friday seems to be the main action day.
