5:45 PM UPDATE: Still a big contrast across Alabama late on this Friday afternoon. It was a chilly 43 with heavy rain in Haleyville, NW Alabama to a warm 81 at Dothan, SE Alabama.
Rain continues widespread, almost all of it along and north of I-59/20. There were spots of moderate to heavy rain but most of it was light.
To the west of Alabama, rain was heavier over North Central Mississippi and especially over North Louisiana and South Arkansas. All of that spreading eastward in the general direction of Alabama.
NWS in Jackson has issued a Flood Warning for several counties in Central and NE Mississippi. NWS says 2 to 4 inches of rain in that general area tonight and Saturday.
