Overall, thunderstorm activity was on the decline late this afternoon. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning continued for Lawrence County in NW Alabama until 6:00 p.m.

The storm that prompted the warning for part of Talladega and Calhoun Counties has fizzled after it got to the Anniston/Oxford area.

Several thunderstorms have grown stronger about 35 miles south of Birmingham along the Shelby/Chilton County line. Those were moving almost due south, in contrast to the eastward-moving storms all afternoon.

There is also an outflow boundary clearly visible on radar that stretches across much of Central Alabama from west of Centreville to Rockford and into Tallapoosa County in East Alabama. That outflow boundary could trigger some more storms.

The Severe Thunderstorm Watch continues until 7:00 p.m.
