The strongest thunderstorms within a 50-mile radious of Birmingham were concentrated over the NE half of Shelby County at 5:00 p.m.
Heavy rain and dangerous lightning was reported at Chelsea. Thunderstorms are strong and numerous in places like Westover, Vincent, Sterrett and approaching Harpersville. The big complex of storms is moving toward the ESE. There were other scattered storms over south Jefferson County, but not as strong.
In extreme North Alabama, the National Weather Service Huntsville discontinued the Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Lauderdale County at 5:00 p.m.
