UPDATED 11:30 AM TO INCLUDE 15 ADDITIONAL REPORTS
It appears that the frost across Alabama this morning was not a widespread killing frost. One thing that helped was that temperatures were not low enough for a long period of time. There were pockets of heavy frost however. Vic Bell reported a “big frost” in Black Creek (Scrougeout) in NE Etowah County. We need to rename Vic’s little corner of the world the “Fairbanks of the South.” At Coker, west of Tuscaloosa a “nice frost” was reported. Virginia Mines report included “widespread light frost with ice in bird bath.”
