Thunderstorms were increasing late this morning across North Alabama and thunder is now heard in the Birmingham area. So far this morning, we have not had any Severe Thunderstorm Warnings. However, there have been several situations with extremely heavy rain. NWS/Huntsville have a Flash Flood Warning for parts of Colbert, Lauderdale and Lawrence Counties in NW Alabama until 11:15. That area had some serious flash flooding a few days ago and it will not take as much rain to set it off again.

Radar, at 11:00 a.m., showed showers and storms fairly numerous as close to Birmingham as St. Clair, North Jefferson, Walker and Fayette Counties. The heaviest rain was over Winston, Lawrence, Colbert and Lauderdale Counties in NW Alabama. Individual storms have developed as far south as Leeds and Cottondale in SE Tuscaloosa County. Movement is toward the SE.

The Storm Predicition Center continues a Slight Risk of severe weather this afternoon and tonight for parts of West and NW Alabama. The area is a bit smaller than the earlier advisory. The latest includes places like Florence, Hamilton, Vernon, Jasper, Cullman, Tuscaloosa and Birmingham, to name a few.

We will keep on our toes about these thunderboomers.
