Most of the heavier showers and thunderstorms had shifted over into East Alabama late this morning. It was pouring rain in areas from east of Huntsville, across Jackson County, much of Marhsall County and Western DeKalb County. Some of the heavier storms were along the Marshall/DeKalb County line west of Ft. Payne.
Further south, scattered showers and thunderstorms were increasing from near Gadsden, southward into Clay, Talladega, St. Clair and NE Jefferson County. Heavy rain was occurring in NE Trussville, along with a thunderstorm. There were also some heavy showers (and thunder) across a good part of St. Clair County, especially from Springville eastward across the Ashville area.
The showers and storms were moving generally toward the ENE.
Based on radar estimates, well over 1 inch of rain probably fell this morning over extreme NW Alabama from Northern Marion County into the Florence/Tuscumbia area.
Showers and storms will be increasing this afternoon, becoming scattered to numerous all the way down into Central Alabama and producing some very beneficial rain amounts.
