That line of thunderstorms was in a more north-south position.

Now the line extends moreso in a SW to NE position. As midnight approached, the line extended from East Arkansas across the NW corner of Mississippi into West Tennessee to near Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

The main part of the line was just east of Memphis and across Jackson (Tenn.)

There were no more tornado watches. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was in effect until 1 am for:

….West Tennessee
….Extreme East Arkansas
….NW corner of Mississippi

Still lots of lightning in those storms as they move NE and the line progresses slowly eastward.

SPC maintains a slight risk of severe weather for a broad area Friday including all of Alabama. May be mid-day or later before the main action reached the I-59 Corridor.

Remember, even a slight risk should not be taken lightly.

We will post a special updated position report around 3 am.
