Late tonight, strong thunderstorms were limited to Extreme East and NE Alabama, Specifically, at 11:30 pm, the strongest storms were over Dekalb County, including the Fort Payne area and they extended southward along the Calhoun/Cleburne County line into Clay County.

Storms moving northward. They are strong enough for a Significant Weather Alert to be in place.

Most of the rest of Alabama was relatively quiet.

Numerous thunderstorms became strong late this afternoon and tonight. At some point Thursday morning, we will try to assemble some rain totals.

But we are also in need of a few hours sleep. This will probably be our last update for tonight unless the storms get angry again. If that happens, we will be here–blurry-eyed but here.
