It indicates a little later arrival of the precipitation, about the same temperature profile and an increasing threat of heavier icing across Northwest and North Central Alabama from Marion, Winston, Lamar, Fayette and Walker Counties during the morning hours, spreading eastward into Cullman, Blount, Jefferson St. Clair, Etowah, Cherokee, Calhoun and Cleburne Counties later.
The NWS says that no change is contemplated in the Winter Weather Advisory for now, but they think that the Winter Weather Advisory might have to be upgraded to a warning across the aforementioned counties.
Areas as far south as a line from Aliceville to Clanton to Roanoke could see a wintry mix including freezing rain, sleet and rain tomorrow. Temperaures will hover near freezing throughout the day leading to a threat of icing on exposed objects and bridges. It does not take much freezing rain to cause travel problems.
All residents of North and Central Alabama should check the latest weather and road conditions before traveling in the morning.
Businesses, schools and other organizations should closely monitor conditions and plan accordingly.
