Light showers are increasing across Northwest and Central Alabama this morning.

A good bit of light rain covers almost all of Marion and Winston Counties, extending down into Lamar County.

Scattered patchs of light rain were over northern Fayette, Walker, Tuscaloosa, Jefferson, Cullman, Blount, Marshall and Etowah Counties.

A light shower was along the Jefferson/Shelby County line northwest of Pelham.

Heavier showers were west of Carrollton in Pickens County along the Mississippi border, extending back into Sumter County north of Livingston.

Coverages and intensities are increasing and movement is to the north.

Look for light rain to increase throughout the day, with some heavier showers.

Low pressure is near Houston this morning, and it will slolwy move northeast to a position near Natchez by tomorrow afternoon Then the low will meander across the South over the days ahead, giving us a wet week.
