Our system is moving a little faster than expected this morning…
Light snow has spread across parts of Tennessee and into parts of North Alabama.
Snow showers dropped a trace of light snow on the Shoals airport around 6 a.m.
Those same light snow showers were over parts of Madison, Morgan, Marshall and Cullman Counties at this time. Most of the radar echoes are not reaching the ground, but a few snow flurries or light snow showers will occur as the activity moves radpily eastward.
At 7 a.m., flurries were reported at Decatur, Huntsville and Meridianville.
No reports of any accumulation and none are expected, but visibilities could drop briefly to three miles says the NWS Huntsville.
More precipitation will break out this afternoon, likely in the form of a little light rain. But as a cold front arrives this evening, the light rain may briefly change to a little liht snow or flurries over North and North Central Alabama down to I-20. No accumulations are expected (although there may be a light dusting over the higher elevations of Northeast Alabama in parts of Jackson and DeKalb Counties.)
It will become windy later today. A Lakie Windy Advisory is in effect for all of North and Central Alabama for today.
