Jason Simpson, on our internal IM conference, called them “dandruff-sized flakes”
That is a good description.
Based on radar, they are occurring as far south as Chilton and Coosa County. But radar cannot detect them very far out. Tiny flakes reported in Roebuck and Riverchase plus many other North Alabama communities.
You have o look very close.
But cold weather is the main story. What a change from yesterday.
Even in Mobile, with 78 yesterday afternoon, now down to 40,
At 7 am:
25 ac ross the Tennessee Valley with a wind chill as low as 12
27 at Birmingham Airport, north winds, gusts 28, wind chill 15. High yesterday 64
36 in Montgomery after a high yesterday of 66
Very interesting weather especially when you think back to the every-day sameness of mid-summer.
