Part of the big family of severe thunderstorms that brought historic flash flooding to Louisville and many other areas today was pushing SE this evening. A line of thunderstorms at 6:30 extended from near Nashville to Asheville, North Carolina.
The line of storms was pushing SE dumping very heavy rain and much lightning. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was already in effect in that general area.
The NWS/Storm Prediction Center is considering another Severe Thunderstorm Watch that will extend further into Middle and Western Tennessee and possibly into extreme North Alabama.
These big storms will undoubtedly send an outflow boundary down into Alabama that could be the focal area for significant storms tomorrow. We will simply watch it.
