**No Weather Xtreme video today**

RIGHT NOW: It is a cloudy, windy, and cold Christmas morning across Alabama as temperatures are falling toward 40 degrees, where we will stick around throughout the day. The clouds and gusty west winds will make it feel colder, and snow flurries remain possible this morning over the northern third of the state, as you can see from the Columbus, MS NEXRAD:

THE WEEKEND: A wave south of Alabama will bring some clouds by Saturday afternoon, and maybe even some light rain for the southern half of the state by tomorrow night or Sunday morning. Some of that light precipitation might make it as far north as I-20, but for now we won’t mention it in the forecast. A fresh shot of colder air settles in on Sunday night and Monday, and temperatures should remain below average for much of next week.

LONG RANGE: Storm systems will continue to fire up in this active pattern; the next one is due in here around New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day, followed by yet another one in the January 4-5 time frame. We will be more specific with these in coming days.

I hope you and your family enjoy God’s richest blessings today. You know your kids are getting older when I am writing this at 6:50 on Christmas morning, and they are still asleep! Forget them, I am headed down to the tree and see what surprises are there. All part of the magic we share… and when we see the kids eyes light up on Christmas morning, it is another happy reminder of this marvelous season….
