We have some scattered thunderstorms, mainly over NE Alabama at mid afternoon. They are moving toward the east.

When they moved across the Springville area, 33/40 skywatcher, Phillip Johnson, reported a quick 0.27 rain amount along with some gusty winds.

Most of the lightning at mid afternoon was over Calhoun County down into Talladega County and Eastern Shelby County. The NWS/Birmingham posted a Significant Weather Alert for Shelby County because of a thunderstorm near Chelsea moving SE at 35 and possibly some small hail.

It looks like showers and thunderstorms will be rather scarce again Monday, then mostly dry and hotter weather for the rest of the week.

That is absolutely the worst weather news we could have.
