Thunderstorms were roaming the Alabama countryside this afternoon, but generally they are few and far between. That does not mean that some folks are not getting locally heavy rain. At 2:45 p.m., one of the stronger storms was NE of downtown Birmingham extending from near Gardendale over to west of the Trussville area. It was moving toward the east. The NWS earlier issued a Significant Weather Alert because of that storm. Possibly the strongest part of the storm was near Tarrant.

Some of the other stronger storms around the state were SW of Scottsboro and SW of Ft. Payne in NE Alabama and over Eastern Macon County in SE Alabama.
