Those West Alabama showers sure are slow movers.

At 9:00 a.m., a rather wide band of showers extended from Eastern Marion and Winston County on the north southward through Fayette, Walker, Tuscaloosa, Greene, Sumter, Eastern Pickens and Western Hale County.

The showers were moving SE.

Overall, the heavier showers in this group have decreased some. At 9 o’clock, the heaviest showers were across much of Sumter County from Livingston northward and extending into South Pickens County near Aliceville.

Some showers had reached the west edge of Jefferson County.

Earlier, a separate and smaller cluster of showers produced 0.23 rain at Oxford near Anniston. Thanks to the ABC 33/40 skywatcher for that report. It is likely that parts of West Alabama may have received over 1/2 inch of rain so far.
