Raining over at least 50% of Alabama at 9:15

am. About a 40 to 50 mile wide band of rain moving slowly eastward across the state.

Slow steady rain.

Thats the best kind. Has time to soak in.

The best rain extended from Extreme NE Alabama in the Fort Payne-Centre area southwestward to places like Etowah, St. Clair, Shelby, Chilton, Bibb and Hale, all the way down to NW of Mobile.

Additional rain amounts not previously reported:

0.60 West side of Vernon
0.42 Millport
0.70 Green Pond (North Bibb County)

Colder air is pouring into NW and West Alabama and this will signal an end to the rain. The temperature was falling sharply in Fayette–now down to 44.

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL
The 3 pm and 7 pm games at Birmingham’s Legion Fiel will not have a rain problem but it will be breezy and quite chilly!
