Showers have diminished and thinned out greatly from the Birmingham area into NE Alabama.
Main zone of showers now over West Alabama from Bibb and Hale County down across Marengo, South Sumter and Choctaw County. Some of the rain was moderate to heavy.
It was moving east. This batch of rain will bring some good amounts (if it does not weaken) to Perry, Dallas and Wilcox County and eventually to Chilton and Autauga. It will probably pass south of Birmingham and most of Jefferson and Shelby County.
THE COLD FRONT
The SE moving front now across North and Central Mississippi and the NW corner of Alabama. It has passed Nashville, Tupelo, Jackson and Vicksburg. So far, very few additional showers have formed near the front.
ALABAMA RAIN AMOUNTS
Please scroll down to the previous post to see a list. This rain and approaching cold front is a God-send to clear out the forest fire smoke across Alabama. The smoke came in from the fires over SE Georgia and Florida during a SE wind flow.
