First, let’s give you a position report on that long line of showers and thunderstorms that has wet down much of the state. Since these storms moved through without a great deal of wind, we sure hope that will enhance the quality of the autumn color.

Around 11:30 a.m., that long line of storms extended from Jackson and DeKalb Counties in the NE corner of the state, soutward through Calhoun, Cleburne, Clay, Coosa and Tallapoosa Counties down into the SE part of the state.

Another Tornado Warning for part of Covington County. That is at least three times that Extreme South Alabama County has had a Tornado Warning since midnight.

There were several other shorter lines of showers and storms trailing behind in Central and South/Central Alabama. It was pouring rain, especially from Cleburne County southward into the SE part of the state. The line of storms was moving east with individual storms moving NE. The rain was especially heavy over Clay County and spreading eastward into Cleburne County.

Most of the rain has ended over the west half of the state.
