The cool front that gave us a couple of pleasantly cool nights stalled over the extreme south part of the state and today it is headed back northward destined to bring some changes to our weather. It shows up now as a warm front and it is bringing moist air northward into the state.

Meanwhile, the big storm complex that produced 25 tornadoes over Oklahoma yesterday, has shiftedd eastward and that system is not as strong as it was yesterday.

However, it is causing numerous thunderstorms over Arkansas at midday. Some of those extend down into North Louisiana and others into North Mississippi. Some of those storms are getting fairly close to West/Central and NW Alabama.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH
The Storm Prediction Center at 10:30 this morning posted a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for SE Arkansas, North Louisiana, much of Central Mississippi and parts of Eastern Texas until 7:00 this evening. This Watch extends as far eastward as the Mississippi/Alabama border, but it does not include any Alabama counties so far.

However, thunderstorms will be moving into West Alabama this afternoon and becoming more numerous tonight. There will also be a good chance of thunderstorms on Friday, but a sharp decrease by Saturday.

We will, of course, watch these closely just in case some of the storms threaten to become severe in our area.

The 25 tornadoes in Oklahoma yesterday and last evening were not as violent as the tragic event a few days ago. We do not know of any injuries and there were no fatalities. It appears that none of the tornadoes were the extremely powerful long-track kind. There was quite of hail also, including hail 3.25 inches in diameter near Eagle, Oklahoma.
