Big, big change in our weather.

Yesterday, the out-of-control thermometer soared well into the 70s over South Alabama. No chance today. Late morning was like this around the state with generally cloudy weather:

31 in Muscle Shoals, wind chill 22
32 in Decatur
36 in Tuscaloosa and Birmingham
38 in Anniston
40 in Evergreen (70s yesterday)
41 in Mobile (High yesterday was 77)
52 in Dothan (77 yesterday)

Radar shows some scattered light rain over parts of Alabama but a lot of that may not be reaching the ground. We do have reports of some light sleet in the Huntsville area and also in West Jefferson County at UAB West Hospital near Bessemer.

An area of more significant precipitation was spreading from South Louisiana into South Mississippi and moving NE. Mixed precipitation was reported at Hattiesburg and McComb, Miss., and Fort Polk, La. The forecast is for a mix of light freezing rain and light sleet in the Hattiesburg area after midnight tonight.
