The Storm Prediction Center continues a Slight Risk of severe weather from Oklahoma and NE Texas all the way to the Atlantic Coast of North and South Carolina. This also includes the north two-thirds of Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia. In Alabama, the risk area is from near Montgomery north through all of Tennessee.

MODERATE RISK
In their updated discussion late this morning, the Storm Prediction Center has included a Moderate Risk for the north third of Mississippi, extreme SW Tennessee and a considerable part of Arkansas and NE Oklahoma. The Moderate Risk area extends as far east as the Alabama border. Radar, at 11:10 a.m., showed a cluster of strong to possibly severe thunderstorms over NE Oklahoma headed toward the ESE. It appears that this cluster of storms has caused an outflow boundary to develop as far east as North Alabama.

Bottom line: This may be the focus for some strong to severe storms to develop in North and Central Alabama this afternoon and evening. When they do start forming, they will probably develop quickly.

We will be on watch.
