WARM, DRY WEATHER CONTINUES: No real change in Alabama’s weather through tomorrow… warm, dry conditions continue with sunny days and a high in the 85-88 degree range.
To the west, severe storms are possible across parts of the nation’s mid-section later this afternoon and tonight.
Severe storms will remain possible west of Alabama through Friday, but the good news is that we don’t expect any organized severe weather risk in our state for at least the next 10 days.
FRIDAY: Moisture levels rise, and we will bring in a chance of showers and thunderstorms Friday afternoon and Friday night; Friday’s high will be close to 80 degrees.
THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: Moist air stays in place Saturday, and a few passing showers or storms are possible. But, it won’t rain all day, there is no significant risk of severe weather, and the sun might peek out at times. Saturday’s high will be at or just over 80 degrees. Then, the GFS continues to trend dry for Sunday. We will mention just a small risk of a shower Sunday afternoon, otherwise the day should feature a mix of sun and clouds with a high in the low to mid 80s.
NEXT WEEK: Just a few widely scattered showers Monday, but showers and storms become more likely by Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday night ahead of a cold front. Then, drier and slightly cooler air returns to Alabama by Wednesday and Thursday. See the Weather Xtreme video for all the maps, graphics, and details.
AT THE BEACH: Sunny weather continues from Panama City over to Gulf Shores today and tomorrow, but showers and storms are possible Friday afternoon through Saturday. Then showers thin out Sunday and Monday with increasing amounts of sunshine both days. Highs on the immediate coast will be in the 70s, with 80s inland. The sea water temperature this morning at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab is 74 degrees.
