Just after 6:00 p.m. last night and just after you reported that one of your storm watchers in the Montevallo area had recorded a 70 mph wind gust, we heard a roaring sound somewhere to the north of us. This morning I found an area of storm damage on Shelby County Highway 17 about two miles south of Maylene. No one was injured at this location. There are reports of some damage in the Underwood/Dogwood communities on Shelby County Highway 22, but I have not been able to locate any of those sites. Feel free to post any/all of the storm pictures on your blog.
I made the sunrise picture this morning. I thought it made a nice contrast to all the fury of yesterday. I sent a copy of it to Brian Peters earlier today and he may have already posted it on the blog.
