Random notes at the 10:00 hour…

*The Inverness SKYCAM site (at the Wingate Inn just off U.S. 280) has dropped to 32 degrees.

*The Tuscaloosa SKYCAM still shows 32 with rain falling.

*And, still 32 degrees downtown Birmingham on 20th Street at the SKYCAM location on the Daniel Building.

Needless to say, some bridge icing will continue to be be a problem through the late morning hours in scattered spots.

Late report from NWS Huntsville: nws_hun: media reporting n-s Memorial Parkway being closed again…wilson dam closed as well

I-65 over the Tennessee River is a VERY slow go at the moment…looks like it’s down to one lane both directions right now.

J.B. will have more reports shortly…

We expect the temperature to sit around 32 degrees for the next two hours, then slowly recovering into the mid 30s this afternoon. However, some of the colder pockets might stay at or below freezing all day. So, be careful anywhere you drive across North-Central Alabama today.

I will have a full discussion and the new Weather Xtreme video posted by 3:30 this afternoon… we have the new 12Z model set in the house and we are reviewing it now for next week’s action…
