DAMAGE IN TUSCALOOSA COUNTY
At 1:01 p.m., the Tuscaloosa EMA Office reported a 120-foot radio tower was blown down one-half mile south of the intersection of Alabama Highway 69 and US-82. This position would be about 1 mile ESE of Northport.

* From the 33/40 Weather Blog, 0.54 rain recorded at Mountainboro in NW Etowah County. This community was one of the hardest hit in the Blizzard of ’93. (Just a little extra side note there.)

* Don’t be surprised to see a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Tuscaloosa County, but the strongest storm in West Alabama at 1:30 p.m. was over North Lamar County edging into South Marion County and NW Fayette County.

* Several queries wanting to know if the storms, now crossing NW Alabama, are the only ones. The answer is no. There are still other strong storms over SW Tennessee, NW Mississippi and South Arkansas.
