Very few showers in Alabama late this morning. A few mainly near the Tennessee border. They are part of a cluster of showers and thunderstorms over West/Central Tennessee. All of them are moving NE.
By far, the main action is to the west. A line of intense thunderstorms, a number of them severe, extends from SE Missouri, across Arkansas, into the NE corner of Texas. In Arkansas, the line was from Jonesboro in the NE to near Little Rock and then to Texarkana in the extreme SW. Tornado Watches are posted from Western Kentucky southwestward into Arkansas.
Several tornadoes have been reported this morning. One was SW of Center Ridge in Conway County, Arkansas. Another one was near Damascus, Arkansas. Highway 65 was blocked by fallen trees north of town.
THE ALABAMA STORY
The extreme NW part of the state is under a Slight Risk of severe weather overnight and tomorrow the slight risk covers most of the state. It looks like our main action will be tomorrow. Here in Central Alabama, the most numerous and strongest thunderstorms could be from late morning into the afternoon, but we will get a better handle on those times later this afternoon.
