NWS/Birmingham mentioned that storms in these areas could produce strong gusty winds up to 45 mph and very dangerous lightning.
Clay County
Talladega County
Chilton County
Coosa County
There were other strong storms near the Walker/Fayette county line, as well as near the Calhoun/Talladega line between Pell City and Oxford.
Still another strong storm was along the Jefferson/Shelby county line along I-459 where it intersects with 280. This is in the vicinity of the Collonade and the Summit. Movement is erratic. Some of the storms are practically stationary, others are moving slowly SE and still some of the others are moving north.
One of the stronger storms in East Alabama was near the Talladega/Clay county line east of Talladega and near Clairmont Springs.
This is going to be one of those afternoons where it is difficult to tell you where every strong storm is, so if you start getting lots of thunder, lightning and dark clouds, go ahead and assume that the storm will be strong.
