Brian Peters is out of Internet range this weekend, so he is not able to post the regular Weather Xtreme videos this weekend. I am up at ABC 33/40 tonight, filling in for Ashley B, waiting for a football game to end (I think our 10:00 news will go on at midnight!). I should mention this game is being played in Iowa, and those folks are really dealing with some cold weather for so early in the season.
So… some quick thoughts on weather in the days ahead…
*Today (Sunday) looks generally dry for the northern half of the state, but I am not convinced we see much sunshine. I hope I am wrong, but I don’t see any big bone crushing subsidence to clear out the clouds.
*Rain moves back in here tonight as a warm front moves northward through the state.
*There will be a chance of some rain Monday through Thursday of next week. We are just having a hard time getting multiple dry days, which is very anomalous for October, which is normally our driest month of the year.
*We could be looking at some potential for strong to severe thunderstorms around here Thursday as a strong short wave moves through; the degree of instability is in question at this point.
*We actually have a decent chance at a dry weekend October 17-18, but this is a challenging pattern, and confidence beyond two or three days is not very good.
I will have the next Weather Xtreme video here bright and early Monday morning by 7:00 a.m… be sure and scroll down for some fun pictures from the snow covered Midwest, Dr. Tim in Mayberry, and about 200 images from our readers/viewers from Friday’s severe weather day in Alabama. Great stuff.
